Screenshots Contest

Hello everyone,

We the Destiny Team once again need the help from our Players, this time we need some cool screenshots to post on our vault listing of ED located here and our new website.

We need as many screenshots as possible, ok some 15-20 will do, no need to have players submit 50 screenshots each :o

Also from all the screenshots we recieve 1 will be choosen overall and the player who's screenshot is choosen will recieve 1 EDC in game and 4 runner ups will recieve 1 DC.

The contest will run for 4 weeks starting tomorrow, on 05/24/2007 the contest ends and this thread will be locked.

In order to help keep this Contest as steady and smooth as possible im going to list how to go about submitting the screenshots to me.

How to take a screenshot?


(1)
Set up your screen so it's align like you want the screenshot to come out, zoom in, rotate the came, etc, etc.

(2)
Hit your "H" key on your keyboard to hide the UI (User Interface) if you want.

(3)
Hit your "Prt Scrn" key on your keyboard (usually this is the key located above the "Insert" key on most english keyboards) and VOILA! screenshot taken.

How to find your screenshots?


(1)
Exit NWN if you havn't done so already.

(2)
Once on your desktop click on Start.

(3)
Click on Run.

(4)
Delete whatever's in the field and type in C:\NeverwinterNights\NWN

(5)
All your screenshots should be located here.

How to open your screenshots?


NWN saves screenshots in a format that most of our computers can't open so you'll need Ifanview to open them, download the free program and install it.

Ok i can open my NWN screenshots but their all over 3MBs, at this rate it'll take me all month to submit them or upload them somewhere


This is where Ifanview steps in yet again, you'll need to re-save them under a different format so they are smaller in MBs.

To do this follow these instructions.

(1)
Open your screenshot.

(2)
Click on File.

(3)
Click on Save As,

(4)
In the File Name field type a name for your Screenshot and in the "Save as type" dropdown menu choose JPG - JPEG as the format and click Save.

(5)
Repeat as necessary.

How do i get the screenshots submitted?


(1)
Find a suitable website that can host your image, Imageshack and Photobucket are 2 examples of websites that can host images for free, you just need to create an account with them.

(2)
Once you have your image hosted post the link here or the link that starts with [img] so the actual image appears on your post.

(3)
Lastly after uploading the screenshots please send them to me via email or over MSN Messenger at DM_Phantomizer@hotmail.com. Reason for this is that most image hosting websites resize images and i need them in their original sizes for the website and vault listing.

sounds like fun. i will bring my camera with me when i go exploring.

that would be interesting. axe in one hand, shield in the other hand, and camera strapped to my helmet. ;)

only for the person who has to download those huge monsters.

if you do not own a program that does this you may want to do a search for a .tga to .jpg converter. there are many free alteratives. the file size will be reduced to less than 1/4 of the size when converted to a .jpg image.

Can we please have a detailed process for taking, finding, and uploading screenshots? Is it a .tga the file is saved as?

to take an in-game screenshot hit the 'print screen' key at any time. screenshots are in .tga format and are located in your NWN main folder. you can use either of the option DM Phantomizer provided to upload your images or even another method if you know of a better one. i personally use ImageShack .

My question is: format. Are we taking screenshots of our charactars head on, or just in action in general? What exactly are the parameters for this?

The Screenshots should represent an area, for example show a cool area, a cool encounter or just some that might seem interesting overall.

Use yours heads for this, for example a screenshot of a chars face up close won't help us very much.
